Terms of Use

By accessing and using WortJäger ("the Game"), you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By using WortJäger, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

WortJäger is a free, browser-based educational typing game designed to help users learn German vocabulary. The Game is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind.

3. FREE USE

• WortJäger is free to play
• No account or registration is required
• The Game may display advertisements to support development
• Optional donations via Ko-fi are voluntary and non-refundable

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content, code, design, and branding of WortJäger is owned by Melanie Elver. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or redistribute the Game's source code
• Use the WortJäger name or branding without permission
• Create derivative works based on the Game
• Use the Game for commercial purposes without written consent

5. USER CONDUCT

You agree not to:

• Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Game
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Game
• Manipulate leaderboards or game statistics
• Use the Game in any way that violates applicable laws

6. CUSTOM WORD LISTS

The Game allows you to add custom word lists. You are solely responsible for the content of your custom words. Custom word lists are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.

7. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

The Game may contain links to third-party websites (Amazon, Duolingo, Goethe Institut, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these external sites.

8. ADVERTISEMENTS

The Game displays advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads are served by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not control the content of these advertisements.

9. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

WortJäger is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Game will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The vocabulary content is 100% accurate
• The Game will be available at all times

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

In no event shall Melanie Elver or WortJäger be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Game.

11. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws.
